Play charades online

Set up your teams once and the phone does the rest: whose turn it is, a word only the player sees, the timer and the score.

Game setup

Everything is saved on this phone, so you can stop and resume any time.

What you need

  • One phone or tablet and at least four people.
  • Two to four teams. Uneven teams are fine — the game counts turns per team, not per player.
  • About 20 minutes for 3 rounds of 60-second turns with two teams.

Playing over a video call

Charades works on Zoom or FaceTime too: the player whose turn it is opens CharadeBox on their own phone, keeps the screen to themselves and acts for the camera. The team guesses out loud, the player taps Got it. Pass the turn by sending the link to the next player.

Before you start

Do all players need the site open?
No. One phone runs the whole game — it is passed to whoever is up. Everyone else just guesses.
What happens if the screen locks or the page reloads?
The game is saved after every tap. Open the page again and tap Resume game; a turn that was running comes back paused with the time it had left.
Can we change the teams in the middle of a game?
Not yet — end the game from the menu and start a new one. Your team names are remembered for the next game.
